• As you all know, Stuart was diagnosed with Stage IV large B Cell lymphoma in September 2020.  After spending long spells in hospital and receiving several gruesome rounds of treatment, he tragically lost his fight and passed away on the 6th of August 2021 at the age of 57.  Janice, Greg, Jamie and Ross wish to continue Stuart’s legacy and fundraise to help to continue to develop the haematology service including the Ambulatory Care unit within the Beatson. 

We are delighted that over the last two years, we have hosted 2 ladies lunches and 1 golf Memorial Day, which has raised over £250,000!  We are proud to have officially opened The Stuart McCaffer Ambulatory Care Unit in October 2023 and we were very touched listening to 23 year old Mhairi who was the first person to benefit from this facility.  We are honoured that she will be attending the lunch and she will explain the opportunities that the ambulatory care service has given her and how much it has changed her life, not having to spend a significant amount of time in hospital.  

We intend to continue fundraising for the haematology service and the next project is to raise funds for a specialised Clinical Educator for Haematology.  This will ensure the development of this specialised area which manages all types of blood cancer with a rapidly increasing number of treatment options.
